In 2024, Pure—renowned for its heritage in DAB/DAB+ radios—asked our UK-based engineering team to identify a rising consumer need: better sleep hygiene through audio-visual technology. The result was Moment, Pure’s first dedicated “ambient sleep companion,” combining sound, light, and digital smarts in a single bedside device.

Challenge & Insight
We recognised a cultural shift: consumers crave more mindful evening routines and gentler awakenings. Alarm clocks and smart speakers often disrupt, not support, rest. Our mission: design a product that soothes—but still performs—hugging comfort, calm, and modern connectability.

Concept & Collaboration
Backed by Pure’s pedigree in digital audio, our in-house UK tech squad—from industrial designers to firmware developers—banded together. Rather than outsourcing, we rolled up our sleeves: sketching light patterns, mapping embedded software, tuning audio samples, and crafting UI routines side by side.

Team Culture
Our UK tech workshop embodied Pure spirit: hands-on, inter-disciplinary, full-tilt collaboration. Industrial designers prototyped light-tube concepts at dawn. Software engineers debugged sunrise transitions as testers sampled soundscapes late at night. Marketing joined brainstorms to craft sleep-timer narratives. The project wasn’t just collaborative—it was communal.
