About me
I am a journalist of more than 15 years standing, my final full-time role in the industry as Business Editor for Chronicle Newspapers in Chester. This involved editing, sub-editing, designing - and everything else! - a monthly glossy magazine. I am a masterly proofreader and have growing experience in writing press releases, advertising copy and words for websites. Because I understand the needs of editors, I am adept in placing press releases. I am trained in Quark and Terra, use Word on a daily basis and have a basic understanding of Photoshop. I can turn my hand to all styles of writing, with a particular talent for turning dry information into readable copy. An early grounding in science means I am not fazed by technical language. A long career in a busy newsroom has trained me to work fast under pressure and I am deadline-driven.
