Shaun talks to manic! Life about his passion for Photography and everything

Creative.

"I have always displayed strong artistic skills and was encouraged from an early age. By the age of 16 I had decided that a career in art and design would be perfect for me."

I completed a course in the restoration of fine arts round that time while still studying and doing my own thing, I was offered a scholarship at the Palazzo Spinelli Institute for Art, Design and Restoration in Florence, specializing in the restoration of 14th to 16th century fine arts. The experience was instrumental in helping me to develop my creative persona I'm so grateful for that.

For the last four years Shaun has been working and travelling as a freelance photographer, designer and web designer, his impressive portofolio of work includes such clients as Indouse, Tom Taylor, Pasha, Kinki Malinki, Spoilt4choice, 2funked4work, MTV, Guess Jeans, Diesel, Sisley , United Colors of Benetton, NARA CAMICIE, Just Cavalli, Miss Sixty, Ira Losco, Goff, NETENTERTAINMENT, TIGI, Betfair, MadBid... Editorially, he has also worked with such titles as "HealthTraveller", "Healthcare Options", "MANIC", Tune In, Home Works, The Sun...

"As well as working in the art and design industry, I try put the knowledge I gained to use I try to inspire others who share my passions. I'm the kind of guy that lives life completely as an artist. I see life passing by in images, colors, moments, feelings, movement. I am a very down to earth character, a hopeless romantic who still has a lot of faith in what the human kind have to offer to one another. "I wake up every morning with a renewed eagerness looking to learn something new and do something that might just make a difference not only for myself but anyone who will appreciate my work and the source of my creativity and I love it....it makes my work stay true."

Shaun addresses his concerns about many aspiring artists and creative's being too busy discovering what they call a "style" they should be working on originality and developing their originality he feels that once they find their "magic element" it will establish their signature. Their success very much depends on developing it, instead of, in their haste, using somebody else's.

So respect yourself and other artists' work. By all mean be influenced and inspired by the work of others however create your own uniqueness and do not become a vacuous imitation of the original.

The 'next big thing' is always the one that is fresh....A FIRST!!!

It's hard work however the immense sense of satisfaction an artist enjoys when his work is recognized, admired and acknowledged makes it all worthwhile!!!!
