About me
I graduated in 2009 with a degree in BA Film & Media Production and have a strong desire to work within the media. I would welcome the opportunity to share my passion for the industry with others.
Whilst at university I completed a PR module, which involved publicising, organising and putting together a gig for young musical talent. The hours I put in and all of my hard work paid off as I received First Class Honours and my work was kept by the university to use as example work for future students to look at. I feel this was collectively due to my organisational, interpersonal skills and ability to manage time.
Throughout my degree course I have developed an interest in editing. I have used Final Cut Pro to edit several genres of work from short films to music videos. Working as part of a team has been valuable in teaching me the importance of being flexible and I'm always being prepared to adapt goals in the light of changing situations. Whilst working on several productions I have been able to develop my leadership skills, taking initiative and organising and motivating others. At the same time I have gained some experience in problem solving and persevering when things were not working out. As a result of keeping to tight deadlines I have displayed good time management and self-discipline. Whilst editing projects I have shown interpersonal skills, the ability to think on my feet and leadership skills.
Through my time at university I have been able to utilise my expertise working with people through a variety of vacation jobs. I balanced a part-time bar job with attending lectures and completing my final year course work, showing I have excellent time-management and organisational skills. I have had the opportunity to deal with customers through these jobs. I have worked on customer service desks, where I was required to have an excellent telephone manner and deal with a variety of customer queries. I like to be organised and keep areas tidy so I can work quickly and more efficiently. I am highly adaptable and would flourish in a job where I am able to switch between tasks. Through previous jobs I have worked weekends, days and nights and would be happy to work shift patterns.
Spending my summer at a camp in New York definitely shows that I am enthusiastic, getting up in the early hours and working through to late at night was hard work but my work as a Video Specialist in was valuable in teaching me the importance of planning and organisation, as well as working together as a team. I was able to balance teaching the children how to film and edit, as well as helping them brainstorm ideas, whilst also looking after my own bunk of 10 girls.
Currently I volunteer at a local radio station where I help in all areas, some of which include; reception duty, providing clients with drinks and entering data on the computer. I enjoy multi-tasking and am extremely motivated to do well in my career.
I am available to start immediately. Please find enclosed my CV, where you will find further information
