I'm emailing to apply for the Digital Project Manager post you are advertising on Creativepool.

Your appeal for people who can be cool under pressure struck a chord.

My most recent experience was with Gemin-i, an award winning social enterprise which designs online community solutions for a range of organisations.

I took over responsibility for all of the organisation's project delivery, managing a team of 5 co-ordinators.

The reason the ‘cool-under-pressure' struck a chord is that although Gemin-I was successful, it was lacking the formal project monitoring and management processes which help keep project managers such as I sleeping soundly at night.

I created and designed the project planning, costing and management processes, which blended the use of SCRUM/Agile, the Logical Framework and full cost recovery. At the point I joined the organization there were no formal project monitoring or management processes in place.

This saw us being able to successfully report against the myriad of overlapping, major funded projects we were delivering, including several corporate partnerships.

I have always been interested in working with organisations that have personality. At the beginning of my career, in February 2000, I founded one of the world's first websites with content written by and for young people. Pupiline (*) saw me develop an enterprise which engaged with over 3 million young people across the world, and establish significant commercial relationships. These included a content syndication deal HarperCollins, bSkyB and Microsoft, and recruitment syndication and content with Monster and Burger King.

I was attracted to your advert because I have demonstrated throughout my career that I am an agile, thoughtful problem solver. I enjoy working with clients to help them determine how best to make use of the web to improve or transform their work.

I am experienced in the use of HTML, CSS and Javascript, and have encountered numerous Content Management Systems including the popular ExpressionEngine and WordPress systems. I am an avid user of Twitter (@oli) and am fascinated by the development of the internet and social media.
