About me

Mike Cala is a freelance Art Director who had his start working as a designer for Take 2 Interactive and Rockstar Games in New York City in 2002. Rockstar, by then a young trailblazing videogame publisher, had a reputation for pushing boundaries with the Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club series. The experience there allowed him to incorporate all of his influences into the work produced for their games given their fun and edgy subject matter. In 2007, Mike decided to switch coasts and relocate to San Francisco to become a part of its massive design scene. There he went on to join Eidos Interactive as their Senior Designer and Creative Services Manager where he headed the creative team and continued to work on a catalog of high profile games like Tomb Raider: Underworld and Batman: Arkham Asylum. In late 2009, he crossed the Atlantic to London where he now resides. His work and experience run the gamut, comprising of conceptual branding, packaging, point of sale, experience design, and user-interface front-end design. He has an undying love for t-shirt graphics, sneakers, and Rodney Dangerfield movies aside from being an all out music junkie.
