ABOUT
Brief
These are brand and packaging designs for a prospective client who was looking to resurrect and relaunch a centuries old Russian luxury food brand called 'Abrikosov & Sons'. The brief was to propose logos and packaging concepts for a range of high-end loose leaf teas and chocolates that were to feel modern but also reflect the brand's Russian heritage.
Concept
The packaging designs utilise rich colours, patterns and shapes inspired by Tsarist architecture, shapes and colours – particularly the domes found on the towers at the ‘Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood’ in St Petersburg.
Execution
Although the logo designs, typography, labels and packaging concepts were original and produced by our in-house design team, the visuals shown here utilise existing patterns and mock-up templates. Had the project gone ahead, we would have commissioned a pattern illustrator to produce a bespoke design evoking the spirit of the concepts we were proposing.
Results
Unfortunately the project did not go past this initial phase of work, but a selection of the ideas presented to the client are shown here.
