About me

I have just graduated from the MA in Film Studies with Film Archiving at the University of East Anglia, England. The course is a study in the moving image archiving profession involving the ethical, legal and practical complexities in film storage, preservation, restoration, access, copyright, cataloguing and film as a historical resource. I have recently completed an internship at American Zoetrope in San Francisco under the tutorage of James Mockoski. James gave me a complete overview of the schemes he has undertaken since joining Zoetrope in 2002 including the construction of a climate controlled storage vault and the implementation of an asset database. My duties predominately involved identifying production assets before cataloguing them onto the database at the Napa Valley vault, including trims, dailies, opticals, trailers and release prints of Zoetrope's filmography. The vault also housed production notes, props, costumes, film images and casting material together with 16mm documentary material.I aim to put into practise what I have been taught on my masters, particularly in the areas of access and film as a historical resource. It is my career objective to secure a role as an archive researcher specifically in factual production. As an energetic, resourceful, dedicated and well organised person, I demonstrate a natural ability to communicate. In my previous role, at Ascent Media in London, I considered myself a good team player conversing with the bookings department, despatch and schedulers on a daily basis to ensure the work is processed to the client's exact specification. I am similarly well motivated and work decisively to the job in hand. I am experienced in working to tight deadlines and eager to work in a challenging environment.
