About me

I have recently graduated from the Kent School of Architecture, gaining a First Class Honours degree in Interior Design. In addition I have spent the last seven months working at the National Gallery as a 3D Designer. I am now looking for a challenging role in which I can apply the experience I have gained from both my degree and relevant work experience. Throughout my degree, the propulsion behind my projects has been my fascination with the habitation of people within space. How we, as humans, interact and use the space around us, and how we, as designers we can alter peoples experiences through new technologies and products. I produce work to an extremely high standard illustrated by my achievement of the Portfolio Prize within the Kent School of Architecture for the diversity of content and also the presentation of my work. I have also been mentioned in Building Design magazine and Blueprint magazine:‘This year's student in the spotlight is Katie Warren who has mastered the self-programmed and innovative challenge of designing spaces for responsive dance. Using various media to develop and present her project, she comes across as an independent and playful third year student willing to take a risk. One can only guess what Katie's next project will be, and as such she comes to positively epitomise the current state of affairs outside the schools of architecture: her commitment to what she does ensures it will be worthwhile, and so gives a promise for the future.'BD July 2009 Tordis Berstrand My recent work at the National Gallery has allowed me to develop my team working skills and helped me in becoming extremely efficient in working to tight deadlines.
