About me

We live in an age of overload; the average person consumes the equivalent of 174 newspapers of information daily (The Guardian, Feb 2011).

The language of the eye can be both intelligent and beautiful. Numbers and words turned into shapes, colour and space has started to create a new visual language that is changing the way the world is seeing information.

For the past three years I have lived and breathed this philosophy at Mintel and I'm now ready to explore it further.

Here, I've worked my way from production to Head of Graphic Design. My role is within the Marketing department and involves driving forward the visual identity of the brand whilst keeping a close eye on the quality produced by the other print designers. Mintel has allowed me to explore my passion for visual communication and journey-finding through design. I work closely with strategic and commercial heads to make sure all work is clean, approachable, and consistent to the brand.

Prior to Mintel, I worked for a small travel company as their sole designer. Here I developed my passion for information design and its ability to present complex content articulately. I have acquired a methodical and analytical approach to design which I believe shows through in my portfolio.

I have the ability to work to tight deadlines and turn around projects quickly. Working in a report and publishing environment has strengthened my communication and time management skills. I have the ability to art direct and lead a team of creatives to achieve fantastic output, yet I can confidently tackle problems independently, artwork and even make tea (and bake cakes!).

I'm looking for an opportunity to learn and develop in the digital age. I want to be able to fluidly translate print to online, through websites, tablets and mobile, and understand all the aspects to making design respond correctly and coherently for the audience.
