About me

I am a consummate sub-editor and proofreader with more than 10 years
of experience in consumer, specialist and business-to-business
publications, in print and online.

In my most recent role as production editor for a publishing and
events company, my key responsibilities included sub-editing copy
submitted by internal and external contributors (including those whose
mother tongue was not English), writing all page furniture for a range
of publications and proofreading all material prior to it being
published - in print or online.

I proofread material for a number of print and online publications,
including four bi-monthly business-to-business magazines, monthly
events updates, a weekly e-newsletter, two annual business directories,
an annual awards event and copy for 14 global conferences.

I was nicknamed an 'editorial fascist' for my insistence
on the correct use of the English language and for ensuring copy was
accurate and error-free.

During my tenure as freelance sub-editor and layout artist for a
corporate communications company, my duties included sub-editing all
copy for publication and proofreading pages for final sign-off.

As editor of a weekly regional newspaper for more than 10 years, my
key responsibilities included sub-editing all copy submitted from a
range of sources, proofreading all pages and advertising material for
publication and signing off final pages for print.
