About me
My name is John Ryan, I'm British, based in London.
I have a clean driving licence, and have over 25 years experience in live music production, working as a freelance sound engineer under the name AudioSense for the last 12 years.
I have worked with bands in the UK and abroad, and I have a reasonable command of French, German and Italian, and a little Spanish, including at a technical level. I have worked with touring bands, acting as front-of-house sound engineer, occasionally as monitor engineer, and often as tour manager, where I have been responsible for all aspects of the band's welfare including transport and accommodation, health and safety and solving the types of problems often encountered while touring.
I worked for Jazz Fm for many years on both indoor and outdoor events with their different requirements and problems, where my experience was considered to be invaluable. On these events I often used my own sound equipment which was tailored exactly to suit the requirements of the client, so with my stage and production management skills I was often solely responsible for the success of such events. Adverse comments or complaints have been extremely rare. My work for Jazz FM finished shortly after a management change when the station became known as Smooth FM and the music policy changed.
In more recent years I have also been engaged in freelance work, including specialised installation and consultancy.
I'm available immediately and will consider work anywhere.
