A two page C.V. is particularly inadequate to sum up over 30 years of experience and the worse person to ask about themselves, either in written or verbal format is, as you know, themselves.

Assured self confidence, humility and deference are often veiled egotism whilst over enthusiasm carries the subtle whiff of desperation.

So having at least warned you of a couple of the strategies I and your other candidates will employ in order to gain your favour and having pointed out how to spot this masquerade, I feel my obligation to tell the truth is fulfilled.

A slightly unorthodox covering letter, I grant you but it did arouse your interest and as copywriters, we are in the business of creating memorable writing.

Wether I am any better suited to fill the position on offer than any of your other candidates, I cannot say, for you know neither they nor I and so we jockey for position, striving to impress one another having donned our best Sunday masks for the interview.

What I can say in all honesty is, due to my unique life experiences I have the ability to comprehend concepts and ideas and translate them into a comprehensible written format in a fresh, engaging and interesting manner and whilst in your employ, I would endeavour to produce work of a sufficiently high quality that it surprises and exceeds client expectation and satisfies my own desire for excellence.
