About me

I'm Joel, a photographer based in Jaén, Spain, specialized in lighting, image capture, and post-production. My work moves between two worlds that feed off each other: the controlled, technical precision of theatre and stage photography, and the raw, solitary exploration of urban nocturnal and liminal spaces.

Under the name psiko_naut, I document the in-between — empty corridors, abandoned buildings, and the eerie stillness of cities after dark — using analog textures honestly, for their organic grain rather than as a filter. On the other side of my practice, I work with theatre companies and cultural institutions, capturing live performance and delivering same-night social media edits alongside fully retouched sets.

I shoot on a Canon 2000D and edit in Lightroom and Photoshop, and I also work in video, editing with DaVinci Resolve. I'm always looking for new collaborations — theatres, arts institutions, and brands that value atmosphere as much as technique.
