ABOUT
Concept
Studio Yet transformed lululemon’s “Power of Yet” philosophy into a fully immersive training destination in Los Angeles. Rather than creating a traditional retail pop-up, Salt and Pinch reimagined a Melrose Avenue storefront as a live training environment where ambition, discipline, recovery, and progress could be experienced physically rather than communicated through messaging alone.
The concept translated the emotional reality of athletic growth into spatial contrasts between effort and recovery, intensity and reflection, aspiration and achievement. Designed as a modular environment spanning Gym, Studio, Lounge, Retail, Recovery, and Rooftop spaces, Studio Yet blended performance, community, and culture into one cohesive brand world, transforming training into a shared cultural experience.
Execution
Salt and Pinch led the creative direction, environmental design, fabrication, production, and experiential execution for the activation, delivering the project within an accelerated six-to-seven-week timeline.
The retail footprint was fully transformed into a functioning, high-performance training facility featuring mirrored surfaces, regrind flooring, sculptural training elements, dramatic lighting, layered graphics, and immersive environmental storytelling. A dramatic entry tunnel introduced guests to the “yet” philosophy before transitioning into active training and recovery spaces.
Programming included daily fitness classes, yoga, pilates, strength training, athlete sessions, creator events, community gatherings, and rooftop experiences that evolved the venue from daytime workout destination into an evening cultural hub. Apparel was integrated directly into the experience, allowing guests to wear, test, and engage with products during real training sessions rather than passive retail display.
Results
Studio Yet became a major wellness and cultural destination in Los Angeles, attracting athletes, creators, media, and community audiences throughout its three-week run.
The activation generated strong attendance, sustained participation, and high audience satisfaction throughout its run, while attracting a large number of first-time lululemon event participants. The experience also drove significant earned media, organic social engagement, repeat visitation, and cultural conversation, reinforcing lululemon’s position at the intersection of performance, design, and community.
By transforming a retail environment into a fully participatory training ecosystem, Studio Yet redefined how a brand philosophy can become a lived experience rather than simply a campaign message.
