About me

I'm Bharathee — Bee — a Senior Graphic Designer with over ten years of experience creating visual work that actually does something. Not just looks good on a screen or wins internal approval, but moves an audience, strengthens a brand, and delivers against the brief.
My background spans agency and in-house environments across three countries. I've worked across brand identity, integrated campaigns, digital, print, social, email, display, OOH, packaging, experiential, web and motion. I spent two years as a Senior Designer at Omnicom Production within adam&eve Studios DDB in London, working across a retained portfolio of more than twenty global clients simultaneously, delivering high-volume creative output for FMCG, healthcare, fintech, entertainment, hospitality, and automotive. Before that, Art Director at a full-service agency in Chennai across fifteen-plus brands; before that, sole in-house designer at a consumer food brand, where I led a full brand refresh from initial strategy through packaging, photography, POS, digital, and print—end-to-end, with real ownership.
That range is what I'm most proud of. I know what it is to be the only designer in the building, responsible for every creative decision. I also know what it is to be part of a large, fast-moving production studio where consistency, speed and precision matter above everything — where a brief arrives, a deadline is set, and the work has to land right first time across multiple formats and markets. Both environments demand different skills and different instincts, and having spent significant time in each has made me a sharper, more adaptable, and more commercially literate designer. I don't just produce — I understand what the work is for, and that understanding shapes every decision I make.
Craft-wise, I'm strong across the Adobe Creative Suite — InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro are all daily tools — and I work extensively in Figma. I have a solid grounding in typography, layout systems, colour theory, and brand governance. I've built scalable design systems and template libraries from scratch, developed brand identities for organisations at different stages of growth, and maintained visual consistency across global campaigns spanning multiple markets and languages. I've also spent enough time on photography — product, editorial, documentary — to understand shoots from both sides of the lens.
Beyond the tools, I bring a genuine understanding of why visual decisions matter. I know how to read a brief for what it's actually asking beneath the surface. I've worked alongside copywriters, strategists, SEO teams and developers, and understand how design sits within a broader marketing ecosystem. I've presented creative rationale to senior stakeholders, incorporated feedback without losing the integrity of the idea, mentored junior designers, and supported marketing teams with A/B testing — using performance data to inform iterations and improve outcomes.
The work I find most satisfying sits at the intersection of strategy and craft. Taking a brief with a real business objective and finding the visual idea that makes it land with the right audience at the right moment. I've worked on campaigns that had to earn the trust of GPs and financial professionals, campaigns that had to shift product on shelf, campaigns that built emotional connection for entertainment brands, and campaigns that made fintech products feel safe and credible to a sceptical audience. The thinking behind each looks completely different, and that variety is exactly what I find energising about this work.
My MA in History of Fine Arts — specialising in textile design, design history, visual culture and photography — gives me a way of seeing that goes beyond software proficiency. I think about the cultural context of visual language, what makes design feel considered rather than merely executed, and how the best work connects something true about a brand to something true about the people it wants to reach. That perspective shows up even in the most commercially grounded briefs.
I'm from Tamil Nadu, India. I've lived and worked in Chennai, Mumbai and London, and I'm now based in Derby. Fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil, conversational in Malayalam. Working across cultures and markets is lived experience for me, not an abstract skill.
Open to senior designer roles in hybrid and remote environments across the UK — in-house, agency or studio. At my best where the work is taken seriously, thinking and execution are both valued, and experienced designers have room to contribute beyond just delivering files.
