About me

I'm currently a Creative Director for a large engineering service corporation, supporting the oil and gas industry. I provide a range of multimedia service for a group of internal companies.

In order to support my application I would like to highlight the experiences I have had that are relevant to the role:

- I have a vast skill range from digital to print design and have overseen many cross media design projects.

- Filmmaking is one of my passions and I am very competent in developing scripts into the story board stage to enthuse the video production process. Composition is the key to any design element, and is foremost in videography. However, the real art of filmmaking is in video editing and something I am keen to teach at all levels. Video format is ever-changing in today's society and has meant that I have to remain up to speed with the latest codec and compression issues.

- I believe that photography has a place in every design discipline as a base design element. I am an accomplished photographer, that understands the importance of the science behind the camera and use it to produce high quality imagery. I believe that compositional awareness and lighting techniques are key factors in giving an image emotion or feeling - a visual composition must convey a clear message from the beginning. Capturing an image is not about pushing a button, you have to work with the subject matter and communicate with all people involved.

- I have worked with many web application technologies and have an understanding of SQL, Coldfusion, C+, Java, Action scrip, Lingo, PHP and HTML. I am not a technical author in these disciplines but have been involved enough to ask the right questions and ensure the main design elements are not compromised. I appreciate and understand the importance of applying style sheet design for consistency throughout a project.

- My experience of working in a large corporation has meant that I am comfortable looking after major branding and applying it to different cultures and applications. The Group has a number of different identities which I manage successfully.

- Many of my achievements have been showcased in major oil and gas exhibitions which I have managed.

- I have strong international experience having worked in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

- I am accomplished at managing my own and team deadlines ensuring a smooth project work flow.

- I also believe that I have more to offer that can help grow the business in other fields of Multimedia.

- I have developed many relationships within the industry that I feel would benefit the organisation.

- Being passionate about design I am well read on current design trends and look for inspiration in art galleries and exhibitions.

In addition I am ambitious, hard working and focused on delivering value to any role I undertake. I have strong leadership qualities and have a record of motivating my team to succeed.
