ABOUT
Most people know to belt up on long drives. But many — especially younger drivers and passengers — admit to skipping seatbelts on short trips, assuming they’re less risky.
To challenge this dangerous myth, the AA Charitable Trust launched a bold awareness campaign — using the power of football to cut through.
We teamed up with Basingstoke Town FC, who wore specially designed kits featuring a striking diagonal stripe across the chest, reimagined as a seatbelt.
The goal? Shift behaviour among 17–25-year-olds and get them buckling up — even on quick 10–15 minute drives. A full stadium takeover amplified the message, and the campaign hit national headlines when football legend Ian Wright gave it his backing and discussed it on The Overlap podcast with Gary Neville.
