Dear Sir/madam

I am writing to you with the hope of successfully applying for a media position in London.

I recently moved from Johannesburg, South Africa to London, in search of broadening my career opportunities.

I am a qualified journalist and speech and drama teacher, having studied at the Johannesburg based, University of the Witwatersrand and the Trinity College of London (through correspondence) respectively.

Since my graduation I have developed my writing and journalistic skills through an internship at the Investigative Journalism Workshop (IJW) as well as through the diverse work I have been involved in at Flow where I have contributed to variety of publications from the Financial Mail to Fodors guide book. Since my arrival in London, I have worked as a copywriter for the immigration and visa authority, Global Visas.

Through this experience, I have become an adaptable journalist who aims to create creative work no matter the topic. Although no piece of writing is perfect or to everyone's taste I believe in my ability and the quality I produce. I therefore always give 100%. This striving for perfection has made me a highly organised person in the workplace, although I do thrive off tight deadlines and the pressure that comes with it.
