Buyung has 20 years of experience in creative, technology, & advertising, working across multiple markets & categories such as telco, automotive, e-commerce, FMCG, electronics, financial services, F&B, travel, and tourism, specializing in categories that require ethical marketing such as alcohol, pharma, and tobacco.

He's a brand and creative planner skilled in building and grounding global brands (Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Yamaha, Samsung, Kao, L'Oréal, Mondelez, Otsuka, Levi's, Hutchinson, Ooredoo, Sanofi, Pfizer, Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Guinness, Captain Morgan, Cîroc, Phillip Morris, JTI, and Djarum) with local insights that result in strong & effective creative work.

He holds degrees from ITS in applied physics and industrial & product design, started his career as an engineer but decided to shift to advertising to pursue his passion for creativity, technology, and innovation.
He co-founded a digital advertising startup called BOUNCHE, which he helped grow from a six-man team to today's 60-person company with a profitable client portfolio.
He joined LivingSocial to take up a position of digital marketing manager, got recruited to join IRIS as technology manager, and after a while got scouted to join CDC (communication design center), a part of Dentsu Aegis Network Indonesia, as Strategic Planning Director and Head of Technology for CDC.

His dual role in CDC means that, beside leading and providing alignment to the company's technology strategy to match its business strategy, he's also tasked with providing strategic planning support that caters to 11 business units within DAN's group that have different services (creative, media, & digital).
After his tenure with DAN, he joined Nava+, responsible for leading, training, and the daily operation of the planning team with a hybrid role of brand, communications, and creative planning. He was also in an advisory role for 2 startups under Nava+ (SKOR and Trendstarz) and responsible for developing the strategic orientation of the company's innovation management. Specifically, it involves an analysis of the opportunities, risks, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as the future derivation of the innovation.

He's currently working with INNOCEAN Worldwide Indonesia to lead the planning department with key clients of Hyundai and KIA Motors.
