ABOUT

Concept:
Rebel and The General Store imagined an Aussie town where sport never existed, making us think about just how much sport shapes our culture. The campaign shows the big role sport plays in bringing people together, building confidence, and creating joy. It’s a fresh, thoughtful take on Rebel’s Sport is Calling platform, shifting from a rallying cry to a meaningful reflection on sport’s everyday place in Australian life.

Execution:
Set in the fictional town of Wattleford, the campaign uses beautiful storytelling and visuals to show what life feels like without sport. The story changes when a stranger asks, “Wanna play?”, sparking movement and connection again. Launched nationally on TV, BVOD and social, it combines emotion and culture to highlight how sport transforms communities.

Results:
The campaign launched on 2 November, marking a new chapter for Rebel by deepening its emotional connection with audiences. It’s the first in a series that shows how sport brings joy and connection to communities, reinforcing Rebel’s mission and resonating widely across Australia.
