Heathen Brewers Craft beer label design
Working with local up and coming brewers, I was asked to design a range of labels for a series of small batch brews they had been producing since moving into their new brewing premises.
I wanted to maintain brand continuity across all three designs but at the same time accentuate the very different beers and styles on offer. The use of brand colours and repeating devices across each bottle provided the necessary linking and 'family' feel.
Working mostly in Illustrator, the effects were built up for each bottle design and resulted in a very well received design. Although small batch beers, they have been sold at events and specialist beer shops across Sussex helping to grow the brand awareness of Heathen Brewers.
This was the first commercial project I had done of this kind and proved a rewarding and educational experience.
Being trusted to come up with the beer names was truly amazing and I'm so thankful to the team at Heathen Brewers for their trust and support.

CLIENT REVIEW
For our first batch of bottles we were interested in some bespoke artwork, while still adhering to the strict legal guidelines for labelling of alcohol products. The beers themselves were all small batch and barrel aged, Running Commentary created incredible labels that showcased each ones uniqueness while perfectly tieing them all together under our wider brand umbrella. Their eye for detail was invaluable not only with the artwork but also the wording and legal requirements. The creative process was an absolute breeze, and we were blown away every time a draft or concept was sent through.
