About me

I am a news presenter and environmental journalist from The Gambia and have worked for a range of media platforms, most recently as the news anchor at The Gambia Radio and Television Services. As news anchor, I reported on a range of current affairs, including Presidential and Vice-Presidential engagements, state visits of foreign dignitaries and Gambian political events, on both TV and radio.
I am passionate about reporting on climate change related issues, especially through telling the stories of the indigenous and often unsung local leaders who are leading the way in climate resilience and adaptation. As well as communicating how climate change has affected people's lives on the ground, I also report on global policy issues and have covered COP 24-27 for the Gambia Radio and Television Services. In addition to reporting on climate change issues, I also advise governments and NGOs on their climate justice communication strategies. As a result of my in-depth work on climate change, I was recognised as Gambia's environmental journalist of the year in 2021.

My other passion is reporting on culture and the arts. I started my career as an entertainment journalist, which included hosting the talent show "Rising Star Africa" from 2017 to 2019. I was nominated as Gambian media personality of the year 3 consecutive times and won most stylish celebrity in 2018. I currently serve as the President of the Cypher hip-hop platform which nurtures young talents in all 5 elements of hip-hop: rap, breakdancing, beatboxing, graffiti and D-J'ing.
As well as being in front of the camera, I also have a range of production skills, including filming, video editing and producing and directing live TV shows. I am also experienced in hosting official and cultural events and have built a strong reputation in this field. I have directed and was the voice-over artist for multiple adverts aired on TV, radio and social media.
