About me
Nathan Theys settled into his film career after acquiring a bursary to study film at the London Film Academy in 2008. Following this he created various commercials and short films - he got mentored by director Menhaj Huda 'Flash, Batwoman (Marvel) and Kidulthood' and was a talent at the Northern Media Open Horizon Talent.
Always interested in social issues, he began working with various charities creating Anti-Bullying Films with the Anti-Bullying Alliance and the National Children's Bureau some of which became the official films 'I FUTURE MY FUTURE' and 'WHAT HAPPENED TO J
Nathan, is busy writing his first feature drama 'RONALD' about his childhood memories of his father's struggle to become one of the first black opera singers to have sung professionally during apartheid. This script has won the best script at the Cape Town International Film Festival, the NFVF Development funding award and was shortlisted at the CANNES QUIZANNE TALENT.
In 2019 and for the next three years Nathan worked very closely with commercial giant McCann World Group producing and directing meaningful commercials and campaigns for Nurofen 'Tune out Pain' Shortlisted for Cannes Lions 2022, Loreal, Microsoft, Mastercard 'Save the children', TSB 'Pride of Britain'. Just off the boat he recently produced and directed all of Co-Op's content for their recent Christmas campaign featuring Big Zuu. By switching of their TV advert, rather, the money for this campaign was used to spotlight community-led food initiatives and to help communities in need during this crisis.
Nathan continues to direct and produce films exploring different social issues and creative ideas.
