About me
I have recently finished working at a local daily paper in the South-west, and am now looking to move ahead in my career. Over my time there I have gained invaluable experience in writing a wide variety of stories . I also occasionally filmed, edited and uploaded the daily news headlines for the newspaper's website, alongside videos created to correspond with articles in the print edition.
I believe myself to be suitably qualified for this position due to the wide variety of experience I have gained through previous posts in the industry. Although the nature of these posts has been varied, I believe that they have invested in me a strong sense of responsibility, along with other skills such as team work, time management and the ability to work under pressure- to strict deadlines.
Along with my BA (Hons) in Journalism I am also NCTJ qualified, having gained the NCTJ certificate in newspaper journalism, and have trained as a BJTC qualified video journalist in Grimsby. I have had my news packages broadcast locally in Lincolnshire and nationally as well, as part of my traineeship.
I can also speak fluent Hindi and Bengali and can also understand basic Punjabi and Urdu. These multi-lingual skills along with my experience in interviewing and presentation can provide a useful contribution to a media employer.
