About me
I've worked as the sole in-house designer for a housing association for the last six and a half years. As well as being their designer, I've also looked after their press and media, public relations and marketing, copywriting and photography, promotional work and events, branding and identity... Basically I was a whole
mini-agency at one desk. Because of this my CV looks a little more 'Jack of all trades' than pure designer.
I'm pretty much self-taught and have developed my skills within my time at the organisation. Although there are advantages to being the sole designer, I've not had the benefit or excitement of working with a creative team, to bounce ideas off and share ideas with. And, to be honest, it can get pretty lonely and I really need to learn more, perform more and be more!
I want to experience the buzz of an agency, work with true creatives and be amongst a team of like-minded people. I want to be given the chance to work on great briefs, and make a difference to the world through design in whatever form I can, and discover my full potential.
I'm an enthusiastic, positive and happy person, motivated by the drive to constantly improve my skills and abilities. I want to provide clients with solutions that they feel good about and proud of. I'm a real team player, good with people, will muck in and get stuck in whenever needed, will try my hand at anything, am quick to learn, and very versatile. I just need to be given the opportunity, tools and time to succeed.
