ABOUT
An energetic visual narrative designed to embody the speed, performance, and innovation behind the Metaspeed™ Tokyo Series. Built around momentum, the film combines rapid cuts and high-energy transitions with suspended, slow-motion airborne moments - wrapped in speed blurs - to create a visceral sense of weightlessness and forward motion. Hero product shots are interwoven with tight detail close-ups and CG motion-captured, rigged athletes in full stride, forming a powerful contrast between engineered precision and race-day performance.
To bring the shoe into CG, we crafted a bespoke 3D weave system that allowed us to construct the upper as a true-to-design asset. Built to reflect the structure and materiality of the physical product, the system gave us control at macro levels - capturing the shoe’s technical complexity in a way that’s accurate and visually refined.
The result of the project was a suite of assets used across digital, social and OOH channels. We developed specific content for the live launch event, that accompanied the ASICS Tokyo Speed Race, where 125 elite athletes took to the streets of Tokyo to push their speed limits in the new METASPEED™ Tokyo Series.
The teasers, fake OOH and full CG film content delivered hype and some of the strongest engagement results across ASICS social media channels, and remains one of their most successful campaigns to date.
