ABOUT

Concept: working solely with Craig Sinnamon of Null Zero, Berlin, the objective was to create an integrated identity for my own book - a topic with plenty of preconceptions and baggage.

Execution: after refining a language for colour use, proportion and image/text balance, I worked up the illustrations while Craig detailed typography, materials and overall style. It took a while to strip the cover concept down to the very minimal finished article, including colour edge print and holographic decals, but once Craig suggested using the clip-art stick (which has recurring relevance in the text), then everything fell into place. The Result: the book has been repeatedly praised for its overall design, and especially for its intriguingly simple cover composition.

'Pop' has gained fans from many fields from education to advertising, was a recent finalist in the Business Book Awards 2022, has spawned a forthcoming exhibit in Australia, and is currently under discussion for a TV version.
