About me

My name is Sam Burgess and I'm a freelance Animator, Graphic Designer and Illustrator from the sunny seaside town of Hastings.

I'd always loved design and creative subjects in school, eventually going to university and graduating with a degree in Illustration & Animation; at UCA Canterbury. Since university I wanted to be a freelancer and have been working with clients from then, while working.
While freelancing, I began teaching at a school, and then was asked to return to UCA Canterbury to teach animation, where I got to teach students years 1-3 at university level.

I use a majority of the Adobe package, mainly working in After Effects, Photoshop and Premiere Pro, whilst also using stop motion animation software Dragon Frame. As a freelancer I've worked with still and moving image, advertising businesses, products and the music industry, providing animated assets for local and national use.
I'm passionate about music, sport, design, self growth and learning: always eager to understand and discover more skills. I've acted as Producer, Animator and Editor in national projects (working for The Pixies & Vaughan Oliver), as well as working with local businesses, giving back to my home town.

More recently, I've been designing heavily typographic based images for a Canadian podcast, and have worked with a local quesadilla restaurant designing graphic illustrations for their business.
