About me

Having been focused on a career in product design and development for many years, I am especially interested in pursuing a career that will combine design solutions with my skills as a 3D CAD designer. Over the last two years I have worked in several companies on short term contracts to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible in the field of design. I believe the knowledge I have gained will be an asset to your company in the position of design.

I am currently working within a sheet metal manufacturing company (Crown UK ltd) on a 6 month contract to reduce overspill of work, these projects will be coming to an end in the next month and I am very keen to expand my knowledge base and would embrace the opportunity to apply my existing knowledge to a company for a more long-term position. I have been working in a small design team creating solutions for safety equipment, created in-house. One of my roles at Crown is to create 3D visuals of new concepts for our customers; to give a view of what the finished product will look like, all my work as been delivered on time to a high standard.

In previous employment at Motor On Services, I was responsible for creating bespoke designs for van racking. It was necessary to have an extensive knowledge of the range of van racking products and the best way in which to use these products. In order to create the best layout for the customer I would discuss on a one to one basis with the customer to find out their needs and provide them with a quotation after designing a bespoke layout. In all the companies I have worked for, I have always built up a good relationship with the manufacturing staff as well as higher management and found this to be the best way to produce the most effective products.

Through my Product Design course, I have very strong research, design and development skills, which have further been developed through work placements. During my studies, and in employment, I have made extensive use of various modelling and technical drawing software, such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge and Rhinoceros,

I am able to create prototypes using both Rapid Prototyping machinery and through physical model making, and use this alongside other media to fully present my project from research, to concept selection, to development. I have experience in implementing my designs into a fully functional prototype, and delivering professional presentations to senior management.
