About me

I am a creative Designer and Animator with over six years' experience creating broadcast motion graphics for leading television, advertising, digital signage, music video and video game projects. I have worked both freelance and permanently creating animations for brands such as Cadbury, ITV, Lidl, Marvel, Burger King and Colgate. My work has been broadcast as part of TV programmes, displayed on large screens at events and in restaurants and supermarkets, streamed on the internet, played on cashpoints, and a music video I created was featured in the 2010 London Short Film Festival. Having obtained a masters in a 3D discipline (Digital Games) I have been working since my 2004 graduation creating 2D and 3D animations, video content and print design. After spending four years in the games industry creating trailers for TV and mobile broadcast, I joined independent TV channel Vox Africa as a Motion Designer. I was responsible for the creation of all channel graphics, including idents, title sequences, captions, news explainers, lower thirds, illustrations and tables. I used After Effects, Cinema 4D and Final Cut on a daily basis as well as a number of the leading associalted plugins such as Trapcode Particular. Overall, I was responsible for helping ensure that Vox Africa successfully launched on Sky, by raising production values and increasing program output.

Since leaving Vox Africa I have worked freelance in the areas of advertising, digital signage and music videos, on contracts ranging from one week to six months. I have enjoyed the variety of work, and this two and a half year period has been the most intensive learning experience of my life. I now have enhanced understanding of branding and marketing strategy resulting from my work at atmAd, where I worked with the sales team trying to create innovative campaign mock ups for leading advertisers. I also have developed my typographical skills though my work designing for print and email, in addition to my digital signage work, and have an improved understanding of the need for clarity balanced with animation flair.
