ABOUT

The Brief –
The Wild Summit is a rallying call for nature. The first occurrence of the conference has a broad and ambitious theme and will set the proposition for the Government to ensure it meets its 2030 nature targets.

Wildlife and Countryside Link enlisted our help on creating a unique and eye-catching design system for the conference that was suitable for its debut.

Concept –
The Wild Summit UK’s branding needed to entice people to come to the conference while encapsulating the essence of the Wild Summit UK and its environmental aims.
It also needed to speak to multiple audience segments from policymakers to grassroots campaigners, business leaders, as well as the general public.

Execution –
We started with a research phase where we looked into other environmental conferences such as COP. As it was the first of its kind and there were no previous assets for Wildlife and Countryside Link to share, we also conducted lengthy sessions with their team to find out the design direction they desired. After a few concepting rounds, the design system was decided using bespoke cutout illustrations and patterns. The illustrations were designed in a series of different sets including: people, fauna (land animals, insects etc.), flora (plants) and other relevant elements such as wind turbines to convey sustainability aims.

We developed a comprehensive design system including a custom mark and brand guidelines as well as templates for social media, presentations and a letterhead. We also supplied the illustrations, including people to ensure they’re able to create their own designs.

Results –
Wildlife and Countryside Link were delighted with the design and uniqueness of the papercut-out style. They’ve shared that their wider team and partners are also impressed with the design and can’t wait to see it come to life for the Summit.

The Wild Summit UK will take place in September 2025.
