About me

My name is Jacobo Giquel Palacios. I was born in Madrid, Spain in 2001. I'm a nascent design manager, I just finished coursing my second year of Design Management at UAL's LCC (London College of Communication).

If asked to, I would not be able to narrow down my performance to a sole discipline or form of art. Due to my various interests and passions, my portfolio could be tagged as interdisciplinary. I performed interior design, user experience design, marketing, research case studies, strategy design and photography. This last one has been part of my life since the very beginning of it as it's practised by various members of my family. Therefore, it has inspired my way of working in every way.

The main impact the light-capturing art has had in me is making every project personal. When I'm shooting, I like to engage with the surrounding environment, become an active observer rather than a passive photographer that just shoots. I like compromising with my work in a personal level, truly bond with whatever I'm working on and try to convey stories, ideas or concepts with the project in subject. I think that this gives my outcome a warm touch, welcoming and near to the audience, accessible.

Since a very young age I've been obsessed with aesthetic beauty. Appeal it's easily triggered and accessed through visual eye-catching components. Its psychological impact is mesmerising, it can make the work more easy-going, pleasant and understandable as it sets the viewer in a concrete mindset characterised by openness and engagement. I like to keep things simple; I personally find overly charged aesthetics somewhat overwhelming. It's better to keep it down to basics, in a clean, subtle, and stylish way that drags the attention to what's important: the content, the message held inside the work. I pay a really meticulous attention to details as I feel that it is what makes the difference: The Devil's on the details.
