About me
I am writing in expression of my interest in your role as a Print Designer. I am a Swedish textile designer based in London.
I have a passion for bold and colourful design with strengths in combining colours with illustrative motifs, drawing inspiration from the natural world, and producing unique eye-catching prints for use in various applications within the luxury interior and fashion markets. My philosophy as a designer is quite simple; to bring the abundance and generosity of colour and beauty found in the natural world into our everyday lives. My ability to have a diverse handwriting comes from having a good eye for detail and my interests and extensive research into different cultures, art movements, visiting museums and my multicultural background.
From a technical perspective I have a solid basis in the fundamentals of fine art and design and am proficient in hand painting, sketching, and drawing. One of my strongest attributes is colour combination and colour palette design, making use of both orthodox and unorthodox combinations to achieve striking results. Composing images from traditional sources such as painting and sketching alongside using photography and Photoshop using a collage approach to create diverse, textured and narrative aspect to my work.
I am a graduate from BCU with a bachelor's degree in Printed Surface and Textile Design. I received a comprehensive overview of many aspects of textile design and related industries and was given the opportunity to really develop the skill to adapt my designs to fit various design briefs for fashion and interiors. I undertook several internships where I learnt invaluable skills from adapting my handwriting style, exploring screen printing techniques, researching and prototyping new products to liaising with buying teams and assisted in visual merchandising.
I have good knowledge of the plethora of different fabrics and textiles used within contemporary manufacturing process and experience regarding their suitability for different designs, use and applications. I also have knowledge of many of the manufacturing and printing process that are foundational to textile design. I am well experienced and proficient in Photoshop. Finally, I have the necessary communication and design skills to work with clients to develop design solutions and to design to a brief, achieving results which meet and go beyond expectations and developing long-lasting professional relationships.
