About me

I am 21 years old and recently completed my Journalism degree at Monash University in Australia. I have had experience at many different press and media organisations and I am continuously writing freelance articles, including feature stories on my different travelling experiences, in order to get my 'foot in the door'.

Due to my passion for journalism and determination to become an established writer, I have been greatly involved in all areas of the field. In Australia, I worked at many different radio stations including SYN FM and Triple R radio stations and have been involved with magazines such as 'Marie Claire', 'Girlfriend ', 'Home Beautiful' and 'Cosmo' and 'Cosmo Bride' . During my time at each of these magazines and radio stations, I gained regular experience in researching, editing, communicating with interviewees and brainstorming ideas and stories.

While at SYN FM Radio Station, I worked as a producer and writer on my own show, Indie Dayze. I learnt many things including how to use the radio panel and even more about independent production and direction. However, while working as a production assistant at Home Beautiful magazine I was given greater responsibility and was in charge of speaking to interviewees, drafting, editing and contributed to feature pieces. I also assisted with the editing of cells using Photoshop and with the online maintenance of the website.

Due to my love of fashion and style I have worked with the fashion department at Marie Claire magazine helping with fashion shoots and in the design studio of Australian designer Alice McCall. My duties included; creating templates, communicating with material suppliers and overseas customers. Not only did I work to my full potential, with a flexible approach, I also remained calm under pressure and was able to stick to strict deadlines.

After completing six months living and studying in France and simultaneously making the most out of the amazing experience, I have moved to London with a greater fluency in the French language and a new appreciation for the culture and the people. Travelling is an important part of my life, because life is all about embracing and understanding other cultures and thus gaining a greater perspective on life.

I would be grateful to be immersed in a world in which I have a vested interest in. As a result I would bring not only a fervent desire to learn but passion, confidence, dedication, and of course a smile.
