About me
Over the course of my jobs and internships, I have gained a variety of skills through a diverse range of assignments. I spent a placement year with two events-related companies. The first was a PR firm in Los Angeles; I helped organise their events and meetings, took on administrative tasks and then gathered information/data after each event. For example, I analysed the influencers and celebrities who attended events, looked at their social media following and determined how they might use this to promote themselves to clients. I noted all the relevant information on each of them, matched it with a picture taken at the event, and then compiled this into a document for the company to send to the client. My organisational and timekeeping/time-management skills were honed during this project; I had to process vast amounts of information and create concise, eye-catching documents to demonstrate to clients the value of the work we were undertaking on their behalf.
The second half of my internship was at an immersive events company where I was given significant responsibility and tasks calling on an array of skills. I worked within the finance and production side, with my first tasks entailing the completion of marketing and business reports. I helped create a new marketing plan and was tasked with finding an alternative CRM tool to promote work to clients. I researched and analysed costs to find a less expensive, more efficient CRM tool. This has now been implemented across the company. My presentation skills and confidence were enhanced since I had to present to senior members of the team, outlining various CRM websites and making my recommendations. I have since done many other presentations and worked on a pitch for future BMW and FIFA events.
