About me
I am Rachel, co-founder and EP at Whale BV in Amsterdam.
I have now worked as a creative producer for more than half my life, starting at age 20 as a Junior Producer at Y+R Mattingly in Melbourne. It's a job that requires all of my strongest attributes. My love of craft and my undying dedication to getting the best from my creative partners. This together with an ingrained love of organising. It comes very naturally to me to understand creative briefs, time lines and budgets and making sure everything is achieved within all parameters. I have a strong understanding of Business Affairs and Advertising legal requirements.
I moved to Amsterdam in 2008 and since then have been lucky enough to have worked for some some of the biggest Global Advertising agencies such as Wieden +Kennedy, 180 Amsterdam, 72 + sunny, Sid Lee, TBWA and Anomaly, for clients like Adidas, Nike, Netflix, Rayban, Instagram, Facebook, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, MontBlanc, Absolut Vodka and Johnnie Walker.
I am an honest, kind, considerate and most importantly respectful producer. No matter how passionate I am about the craft and the creative process, my success is solely based on the creatives I collaborate with. I have very high expectations of myself and of others. I select teams based on a belief that they are capable of outdoing themselves on every new brief. People tend to push beyond to deliver on my projects. This is due to a joint trust in one another, we equally invest in and strive for the height of what is possible within the brief.
In 2019 I started Whale together with the very talented Ezra Xenos. After more than 15 years of agency production we looked for a more tailored and efficient way of making work, whether that is within Advertising agencies or direct for clients. In the last 2 years we have worked with Brands such as Netflix, Adidas, Van Moof, Pantene, Rituals and Bugaboo and for agencies TBWA, Wieden + Kennedy, Studio Lore, Anomaly and Aruliden. We strive to find the most efficient production strategy for each brief, not only financial, but also time, creative and sustainable efficiency.
