About me
As an innovative, determined senior IT leader with extensive experience in managing regional (APAC) infrastructure services for 115K users in 102 locations across 13 countries, building globally trusted, talented teams and delivering dramatically improved incident resolution statistics, I am writing to express my suitability for the advertised role.
You will see from my CV that I spent 18 years working with the multinational engineering and technology company Robert BOSCH, working my way up to Senior Regional IT Manager of Asia Pacific, responsible for building and managing a team of 15 who oversaw APAC server hardware operations covering 102 locations across 13 countries with 115K+ internal customers / users. My focus was on developing this team, increasing operation quality and productivity whilst managing business-critical IT services and system administration.
I managed a budget of £800K, was responsible for launching Bosch's first Cloud offering, and developed global IT infrastructure guidelines for almost 400,000 staff. Further successes included setting up, managing and effectively relocating the APAC datacentre, launching service centre in China as well as significantly improving staff skillset (collaboration, speech, customer interaction, leadership and technical), career progression and job satisfaction.
My role included budget planning, policy management, consulting and cross-functional problem solving, and I also established and mentored 5 virtual global teams across America, Asia Pacific and EMEA in order to manage global IT server service operation alignment and IT process optimization - these teams became highly sought after globally. Additionally, I was a member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB), Asia Pacific IT Crisis team, and Emergency Change Advisory Board for Asia Pacific.
My husband and I migrated to Canada from Singapore in 2018 as he took up the role of CEO of a company there. I decided to take a sabbatical during this time and pursue some personal passions (snowboarding and travel). After the sale of his company in 2020 we chose to move to the UK where both of us could pursue professional interests.
I am currently exploring opportunities that allow me to grow professionally while leveraging my extensive IT skillset and senior management experience to contribute to the success of my future employer. I believe that my background of programming, engineering, infrastructure build/run, ITIL's systematic approaching to IT operation excellence, project management at a global level coupled with my drive and passion for all things IT make me an ideal candidate.
I excel in bringing a new perspective to operations, challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to do things better/cheaper/faster. I role model positive, collaborative and agile ways of working with all areas of the business and have an agile and consistently lean mind-set, combined with excellent communication, impact and influencing skills and the ability to present and contextualise facts in a way that is relevant to diverse audiences.
I hope that my CV demonstrates my capabilities, and I would be happy to further elaborate on how my professional experience and capabilities are ideally suited for the role in an informal telephone conversation or interview.
