About me

Dear Hiring Team,

I am writing to you in reference to the 2021 Industrial Placement Graphic Design part-time position mentioned on the creativepool website, I'm currently pursuing my MA in graphic communication design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. After graduating from BFA with a specialization in Illustration in 2016, I have been working as a graphic designer with a wide range of interests, from history to multilingual typography to story-telling, focusing at the intersection of design and culture. My work has required me to immerse myself in brands, their businesses and their values in order to produce creative solutions to their design problems. After Honing my skills and knowledge in insight-led branding for print and digital media, filling in different roles with brands like Red Bull, Nestle, Google Allo and Mumbai Academy of Moving Image, I want to bring my expertise to the John Lewis Partnership.

During my previous role as Design Lead at Mumbai Academy of Moving Image(MAMI), I was responsible for their brand language refresh. The brand language I created is illustrative of MAMI's ability to discover and spotlight stories and storytellers in the most unexpected places. During my time at MAMI I also designed catalogues, brochures, merchandise and a wide range of print and digital creatives—there was a steep rise in social media engagement post the brand language refresh. I had also illustrated a series of children's books for Nestle and Nanhi Kali that went on to win several design awards at the Creative Abby and Kyoorius Design Awards, two of the most sought after design awards in India. I believe that with my knowledge and experience working with brands I can be a great asset to the design team at John Lewis.
