About me

I'm an experienced, digital first strategic marketer delivering impact for charities and non profits through innovative and award-winning campaigns; successful integrated marketing communication strategies; and taking high performing teams to the next level.

In my current role I lead the regional marketing communications function of the National Trust in London and the South East. I am responsible for the overarching regional communications strategy and managing a team of 17 to deliver across insight, brand, digital (website, email and social media), PR, internal comms and print.

I have over 16 years experience planning and delivering effective integrated marketing and communication strategies for the charity sector and non-profit trade bodies that have increased awareness and reach and driven commercial growth: At the National Trust I created a marketing strategy that boosted our acquisition of members and increased reach and awareness through investment in and strategic management of social and digital platforms and email communications that have led to an increase in followers and engagement. At the NSPCC I helped Childline reach more children through innovative use of digital channels and partnerships; activity included project management of major redevelopment of the website to deliver online counselling services and an award-winning campaign that used social media to directly involve young people in the co-creation of marketing materials for the Childline service. I also developed a content strategy that drove an 'always on' content led marketing approach that increased online contacts to the Childline service by 50%.

I have proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships across multifunctional teams and with external partners and stakeholders. At the NSPCC I was responsible for briefing and managing creative agencies and media owners to deliver an award winning behaviour change campaign that involved brokering successful partnerships with Heart and Netmums. At NSPCC and Childline I collaborated directly with young people to ensure their voice was heard and to co-create communications, including a ground-breaking partnership with Channel 4 (Dubplate Drama series) that successfully engaged young black teenagers.

I have managed teams at every level of my career and played a key role in professional development, particularly skilling teams up to be more digital-first. At my current role at the National Trust I have effectively prioritised the work of my team by introducing a new evaluation process that allows us to not only report KPIs and ROI in a more effective way, but ensures we were directing our limited resource where it will have the most impact.

More recently whilst on furlough I volunteered my social media and content strategy skills to a small social enterprise has given me hands on experience with Canva, Hootsuite and Mailchimp.
