About me

I have recently finished University, where I studied Marketing and Communications for Fashion. My course, built from the ground up by employers, provided me with the latest skills needed for a successful career in the Communications industry, as well as giving me the opportunity to explore my modules and assignments with full creative freedom.

While at university, I branched into fashion blogging which I did through Instagram, as well as working with some amazing brands (Boux Avenue, Skinnydip, I Saw it First), I was able to gain a first-hand insight into the world of influencer marketing and how it operates.

Recently, I completed my dissertation on 'The Marriage of Fashion and Feminism: how characteristics of third wave feminism are revealed through fashion marketing, creating the image of womanhood and femininity today'. Diversity and inclusion within PR and marketing is something I'm really passionate about. As a member of gen z, I recognise that we, as a generation are very socially conscious, not only in our everyday lives, but in who we decide to shop with and support. Today, brands have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk and I'm excited to jump headfirst into the industry and contribute to the work being done.

Prior to beginning my degree, I completed an apprenticeship within the UK Communications team at global pharmaceutical company, Bayer in 2017. Here, I worked across Internal and External Communications, as well as being the lead on all social media campaigns and activity. During my year at the business, we achieved PharmaTimes' Best Pharma Tweeters in the UK, beating the likes of AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer to the top spot. I had the opportunity to work across both the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health businesses.

One of my most memorable projects was working on the launch of Blackcurrant Berocca with the Consumer Health team. This was my first experience of launching a product from concept to shelves and gave me a 360 view of the major aspects of a PR campaign.

More recently, I was an intern at Henley Group International - a small agency with accounts mostly within the tech, pharma and security sectors. Unfortunately, this came to an end a month early, due to COVID-19 and the nationwide lockdown. However, I learned a great deal about new industries and was able to really brush up on my copywriting, for both social and blogs.

I am now seeking to build on this experience with a role such as this, that will help me to acquire the essential skills necessary for a future career within PR and social.
