ABOUT

This was a deeply personal project I undertook to explore what it means to be a woman in today's world. The recent death of a young woman in the UK brought up many unexplored feelings within me around society and the pressures and expectations it places onto women, and this art was the result of that. I wanted to look at femininity and how the female form is honoured without the lens of the male gaze, and how there are so many complex layers to us all.

As always, I want to create work that speaks to you, that infers something else is going on behind the scenes, and I always want my portraits to inspire thought and discussion. What is going on in their minds, what are they thinking about? Portraits that seek to expose the inner as well as the outer layers.
