About me
I am currently teaching Art&Design full time to secondary school studentsin London. I am on a graduate scheme called Teach First which aims to improve educational disadvantage in the capital by sending dedicated graduates to teach in underachieving schools. Teach First also combines business training and utilises a large network of corporate contacts to give its participants a solid understanding of leadership roles within other sectors.
I am a very hardworking individual with strong inter-personal skills and an excellent ability to organise and prioritise. My current job has given me experience of dealing with people from all walks of life as well as operate effectively in a professional environment. I have been responsible for meetings with parents, meetings between members of staff, organising trips for students and developing a new BTEC Art&Design course for KS4 students.
My prior work experience includes working for an advertising agency (HHCL), assisting the creative team at an architectural firm and contributing to 'Screenonline' at the British Film Institute. I have a sound understanding of all practical artistic disciplines, ranging from ceramics to printmaking, as well as experience of working with digital media. My degree course was in Fine Art and involved independent film-making and curating exhibitions. I also lead the student fundraising commitee, collecting sponsorship from companies willing to support arts events for students.
