About me

For the last 4 years, I have been working at USE- Exposure, during this time I have been involved and led a number of projects from concept to market, I have also had a number of opportunities to be a key part of the sales team when on organised cycle events, including Ard Rock, Strathpuffer and The Birmingham Cycle Show.

In my current position as Design Engineer, I have have the joy of designing and model new products in development and work with the team to problem solve and test ideas to overcome the challenges high level riding have on cycle components. This experience has been helping develop and improve my existing CAD - SolidWorks techniques. I have the pleasure of working closely with existing, and sourcing new overseas manufacturing partners a challenge which continually improves my communication by email and phone with the far east. Improving clarity and precession in manufacturing models and drawings that need convey the accurate measurements and materials for our products.

Frequently I have been a vital sales team member when on the road at exhibitions and sponsored events, Filling in where required, gaining experience in communicating with customers as well as shops across the country. I have really enjoyed getting to know USE's customers over this time, being something of an extrovert I have had the opportunity to let my passion for cycling and the industry shine at these events, many of which were over night.

As you will be able to see from my CV and portfolio, I have a passion for the cycling industry not just for work but also as a hobby, and that my experience in photography and 2D design, really helps me convey new and exciting ideas that can then be developed through to market. I have had experience in every area of the design process and love to be hands on with projects using many forms of modelling and drawings to create the perfect solution to design problems. I am used to working with a team and individually to bring innovative and unique designs through to completion.

Cycling has been a major outlet in my life since I bought my own bike from saved change, a Silver fox hardtail aged 13, this went to rust while at university and was replaced by the Triban that I still ride today along side the P7 and a pub bike that has been seeing many more miles during lockdown with both my boys onboard! I haven't been much of an event attendee before working at Exposure Lights, I was mostly out exploring my local hills being Peak District and western Yorkshire dales from Lancaster, since then I have had the joy of riding at a number of events with work. Where I can I will take the toddlers out on the bike to do the local shopping but also enjoy having them join me on as many mob routes as possible, most recently we were up at grizedale as a family and they absolutely loved being out on the P7!
