About me

I am a young professional looking to take the next step into a career oriented on communication and content creation.

Having graduated with a 2.1 in English and French from the University of Leeds in 2016, I have since worked in several very different professional environments where I have taken on marketing and communications responsibilities.

My first role upon graduation was with Capita Customer Management, working within their Marks & Spencer contact centre; initially hired as an agency worker on the phones to customers, I was soon offered a permanent contract and moved to a training role before taking on a secondment as the events content coordinator, a newly-created role allowing me the chance to produce internal communications and support the engagement team with events management.

Once aware that my seconded role could not be extended, I left the company to take on a full-time voluntary role with a small charity called the Cathie Stankevitch Foundation. The charity seeks to support young people to take part in sports activities regardless of their families' financial circumstances, and it also offers one of the only after-school clubs for primary school children in the local area. The work I'm most proud of having done with this charity was organising and promoting a large fundraising disco event for them; I had to see the event through from the first logistical challenges, such as hiring a suitable venue and entertainment package, before moving on to the continuous promotional strategy, for which I used a mix of social media marketing and more traditional printed means, and then finally helping to host the event itself.

Since August 2018, I have been working full-time within the training department of a national social care provider, Creative Support. My work here involves producing email marketing materials for both internal and external audiences, filming and editing video materials to support the promotion of our training services, maintaining our dedicated website via WordPress, and coordinating in-house events for groups like our organisation's LGBT+ network.

I am passionate about developing my skillset further in my free time, having recently completed two modules of a Shaw Academy course in digital marketing, before enrolling myself on a paid-for longer lasting copywriting course. I am an eager learner, and I take this attitude of self-improvement and continuous professional development into my place of work.
