Maureen Fletcher Freelance Illustrator

ABOUT

This is a new illustration style that I am adding to my portfolio as part of my career expansion. This piece is inspired by my travels to Switzerland and Germany a few years ago. I had spent time in the countryside and very much enjoyed the laid-back vibe, lush greenery and beautiful cosy houses.

Being there felt like home to me and it felt like I could really settle down there and have a peaceful and quiet life. Is it too far off of a dream? So many dreams that I have for myself and I see them coming together slowly.

Sometimes I feel optimistic with how things are going but sometimes, it feels like it is taking forever for them to come true. I think what I fear the most is them not coming true and I am left disappointed again. Have you ever felt like that before?

I used to live in the city for a brief period and it felt so chaotic despite the opportunities it presented. I think as we grow older, we prefer a quieter life. Less stressful and less bling.

How about you?

Do you prefer the suburbs or the city?

I've added a YouTube link to this project that I've made if you would like to take a look at my process. Thank you for watching and please consider subscribing if you had found my content to be inspiring, helpful or entertaining to you in any way. Thank you! :)
