About me
I am a certified copywriter who graduated from the College of Media & Publishing in 2022. I also hold an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of East Anglia and a Masters degree in Fiction Studies from the same institution. I have nearly 20 years of working in a variety of office environments, in the private, public, and charitable sectors.
Between 2018 and 2022 I wrote and published The Earlham Review, a bi-yearly humour magazine made from collating old comics, textbooks, newspapers, etc., to form surreal 'fake news' stories. In December 2018, #1 was praised by broadcaster Stuart Maconie on BBC Radio 6 Music. I've also written articles for the local newspaper, essays for academic journals, features for online magazines such as InfoBarrel, and in 2022, my first article for a national magazine, The Fortean Times. For six months in 2023, I voluntarily edited the Norwich Historic Churches Trust newsletter.
In the spring of 2018, I wrote and directed a short film, 'The Elusive Job' (available to view on YouTube), as part of a project led by the Workers' Educational Association. Away from writing, I enjoy football, running, classic novels and vintage cinema.
