About me

Senior Photo Editor at Science Magazine

M.S. in Environmental Science, Film & Photography

B.S. in Biology

A visual storyteller specializing in science communication

First employed as a microbiologist at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, I left to study film and photography at American University wanting to make scientific stories more engaging and interesting to the public. Now, as a senior member of the award-winning Science Visuals team at AAAS, I am excited to work with journalists and visual artists to tell important stories about our world. Our stories take place all over, from the jungles of Indonesia to the top of the Andes Mountains. I am interested to learn about your ideas and possible collaborations!

My work has led to an Ozzie Award Honorable Mention; Silver and Bronze Excel Awards, and a National Academies Communication Award.

I am an active member of the Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW), Women in Film & Video, and the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).
