About me

I'm a fiction writer currently finishing up my third book, so ideas - well written and engaging - are my bag. I bring an ability to always find a solution to problems and come up with great ways to communicate ideas to the world.

In tandem with writing, I can also provide vocal talent for your projects. I was a BBC broadcaster for many years and during this time I also voiced over TV documentaries, comedies, lifestyle and music shows.

Prior to diversifying into fiction, I worked creating audio visual content for the music and film worlds and so have extensive experience in creating copy for web listings, brands, daily blogs, product description, keyword placement, blog and social media posts, bulk interactive newsletters and copy/listings for iTunes and similar platforms. Basically all the things that lifts a product above the competitors.

My work in voiceover and TV research has seen me write plenty of scripts and I bring a broad understanding of popular culture to my writing as well as the deeper breadth of knowledge you get by studying to masters degree level.

My work on food TV programmes has given me an understanding of the art of recipe writing and proofreading.

My work as a magazine editor means I can confidently offer proofreading, copy editing and article writing whilst my time as a columnist for broadsheets and magazines has left me with experience of working with editors, interviewees, deadlines and brands.

My time as the music rep for myspace meant I conducted many interviews to strict briefs whilst my time working for BBC TV and radio as a presenter has left me with research, interviewing and some transcription skills.

My sales background has given me an insight into what draws people to a product and how to sustain that interest then convert it into a sale.

Since becoming a parent I have become more involved in environmental issues, as well as education and parenting topics. I currently head up the eco group for the local school where we work closely with the Breathe Clean campaign and Sustrans charity.

Working to a brief is second nature to me.

I've been self-employed almost all of my life and so have the discipline and infrastructure to turn work around quickly and professionally. I'm happy to take on ideas and incorporate as they evolve and am always on hand for a rewrite until you are completely happy
