About me

As my attached CV indicates I have been working as sole designer and administrator for Loomah Bespoke Carpets and Rugs for nearly 2 years. Whilst the company is small and unique I have been fortunate to work on huge projects for the high end residential and commercial sectors, as well as designing and marketing my own collections. I efficiently organised and designed the new stand at Decorex 07 to which there was a magnificent response. The new collection which was shown there was then photographed and marketed appropriately by myself generating sales and interest in Loomah. On a daily basis I liaise with the factory in the Far East, interact with designers and agents offering advice on our products and services and complete any design work or source inspiration for future projects. My job role also requires the organisation of an effective advertising campaign with measurable results. Alongside of this I maintain a client database and filing system allowing the implementation of international mail shots to current and prospective clients.

I have had excellent training at Nottingham Trent University where I specialised in woven and printed fabrics. During this time I focused on producing exciting fabric, rug and ceramic tile designs that are both completely unique as well as being striking. After graduating I was a designer at J L Presentations where I worked to specific briefs set by a variety of clients producing designs, concepts, and trend boards for the high-end cosmetic and packaging industry. For 3 years I attended Heimtextil in Germany, where I worked as a stylist creating show-stopping exhibition stands for leading textile companies. I was involved in creating concepts and themes for the stand, from choosing fabrics and designs, to props and furniture. The end result had a personal touch as well as being commercially aware. Attention to detail, as well as innovation in product design is essential to my work, whilst focusing on up and coming trends.

As I work for a small company I have been able to manage many aspects of the business myself, which has given me great confidence when delegating tasks to other companies and motivating others into helping me achieve the best possible outcome. A strong sense of self discipline allows me to work effectively and whilst I recognise the importance of individual success, I am proactive in team environments and work well under pressure, both within a team and alone. In addition, I can not only offer broad and developed IT skills (in particular advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Word and Excel) but also offer an impeccably high degree of professionalism and quality in the work I produce. I am eager to build upon my skills and quick to learn new techniques. Along with dedication, I would bring to any role a flair for organisation, excellent communication skills, and true enthusiasm and passion for the job.
